I had an eventful evening Monday. I went over to Best Buy after work to buy a graphics card for my computer. I purchased and downloaded Guild Wars: Factions but when I would try to load it, my computer would lock up. I was planning on getting a new graphics card because the Intel chipset accelerator sucks. I notice it when I play world of warcraft. My play would get laggy when I was in open areas like The Barrens or Eversong Woods, but it was fine in cities like Orgrimmar and Silvermoon City. The lag was pretty bad when I went to the Warsong Gultch battleground.
Anyway, while I was driving to the store, my car's battery light came on. I was a bit nervous, but wanted to get the card then go home. When I got in my car after coming out of the store, the light for my anti-lock brakes came on. I had a feeling for a while that my battery was going to need to be recharged or replaced. I drove home through Lansdale because I didn't want to take the chance of breaking down on Route 309. I was on Main Street while the train arrived from Philly. All of a sudden my car died. I was like, "Oh shit." I put my hazard lights on and called my mom with my cell phone. I also talked to Sue. A couple of cops helped to push my car into a nearby parking lot. My dad then came and tried to jump start my car. You could start it, but it died within a couple of minutes. He jumped it a second time then tried to get it over to the parking lot at 100 W. Main, the building my mom works in. It went stalled again right as he was entering the parking lot. The three of us (Dad, Mom and myself) pushed it a bit then we got a couple of the military recruiters to help push it the rest of the way.
My mom took me home and Dad went back to work. I installed the graphics card (NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GS) and the drivers for it. I got nervous for a minute because it didn't seem to work right away, but I rebooted my computer. it works great after the reboot. I can now play GW and WoW. The graphics are much nicer and run a lot smoother. I rode to work with Mom this morning. Dad bought a new battery and put it in this morning. My car is fine now. It has more 'pep' than it has had recently. I'm sure the gas milage will be a lot better as well.
Tuesday morning, Dad bought a new battery and put it in my car. He brought it over to where I work and parked in the parking lot behind the building. Anyway, I go to leave for the day and when I started my car the battery light came back on. I pulled into the parknig lot of the church across the street and called Mom. I drove to a local shopping center to meet her. She then followed me home. I got to the intersection of Allentown Road and Route 113 and my anti-lock light came on. The same thing happened before my car died the other day. I immediately turned into the parking lot at Bergey's. I left my car there overnight for them to look at today. It turns out I need a new alternator and that is gonna cost about $300. Geez, like i have the money. I'm paying off a student loan, my computer, credit cards, cell phone and my meds need refills.
Other than car problems, my life seems to be a standstill. I don't know what direction my life is heading. I've just about given up on school, but don't have the balls to say anything or drop out. I have to put on this face for everyone because I am afraid that if they really knew how I felt they'd be disappointed in me. My parents have enough to contend with - Nana being in a nursing facility, work. Sue lost her job last night. The owner of the diner said they got someone to replace her. He got miffed because she didn't come in on her day off to talk to him. He sees Sue as a trouble maker, yet keeps the alcoholic cunt who threatened her? The other waitress gets to work late, has been drunk, wired and/or hungover, doesn't do her work and threatens Sue but she gets to stay? Oh yeah. That is so fucking fair..NOT! Well, when he loses customers because of the alky waitress, it will be on him. Sue is sick of working 3rd shift anyway. The best way to get back at them is for Sue to get a better job that pays better, offers benefits and where she can work normal hours. Anyway, TTFN. Peace.
